interacting with infinity for shakuhachi, koto, violin, viola, cello, double bass, percussion & electronics

interacting with infinity use a field recording of a ferris wheel that lies in an abandoned amusement park in the former East Berlin. The wheel continues to live and breathe through the force of the wind which propels it forward in an erratic manner. The electronics were used in the pre-composition stage to analyze these creeks and groans of the machine through spectral analysis and filtering. Then, they are used live to both extract and process the acoustic instruments, with the objective is to re-create the aura of the space.

Premiered in Amsterdam, Holland in collaboration with the SWR Experimental Studio and the Atlas Academy. 2012
