About: In this ongoing series, I work as a performer-composer, combining DIY kinetic sound objects that I design and build with real-time electronic processing and synthesizers to create evolving polyphonic textures. Each medium offers different possibilities—and limitations—for transforming composite sounds. I can add or remove pencils from a kinetic sculpture, interrupt a synthesizer’s sequencer according to the possibilities of its interface, or use digital ring modulation to transform a sound rapidly. I began the series in 2023, and with each new realization I intentionally change at least one element of the composition. My hope is that, through this process, the series will gradually evolve into a radically different work.
